OBJECT:

To contact as many South Carolina stations in as many South Carolina counties as possible.  SC stations contact anyone.  Outside SC work SC only.

DATE / TIME:

1300Z Sept 20 - 2100Z Sept 21, 2008

CW:

1.805 and 50 KHz up from lower end of each band.  (No WARC Bands)

PHONE:

1.845, 3.860, 7.261, 14.270, 21.370, 28.370, 50.125, 144.200, 146.58, 223.50, 446.0

DIGITAL:

Digital portions of 80 meter thru 70 centimeter bands.  (No WARC Bands)

CATEGORIES:

SC Fixed Stations, SC Mobile Stations, Out of State Stations

AWARDS:

Plaques for high score in each category.  Certificates for 2nd, 3rd, 4th place scores in each category.  Additional certificates may be awarded for special achievement or special situations.

EXCHANGE:

SC Stations - Sequential Serial Number and SC County.
Non-SC Stations - Sequential Serial Number and State/Province/Country as applicable.


RULES:

All entries for awards must be single operator, single station only.  South Carolina stations work anyone.  Outside SC work SC only.  Assistance with logging is permitted.  Mobiles must be completely within the county from which they operate; no "on the line" operation.  No WARC band, cross band, cross mode or repeater contacts.  No use of repeaters, packet clusters, spotting nets, etc., to solicit or spot contacts.  All contacts must be "UNIQUE" - meaning there must be a difference in one of the following for at least one station involved in the contact: Callsign (not including any modifiers), Band, Mode, or SC County.  This means anyone may contact the same station on a different band or mode (CW / Phone / Digital) and SC Mobiles may contact same station from a different SC county for additional points.  Entrants must use the Official Log Forms and Official Score Sheet or a Cabrillo File.  A checklist containing the 46 SC Counties is part of the score sheet.  SC Mobiles please be sure to note the county(s) from which you are working in the rightmost log columns.  Please check your logs for dupes (non-"unique" contacts) and mark them thru (do NOT remove from log) before calculating score.  Please double check your QSO count and score calculations before submitting.  SC QSO Party results will be posted to the CARC website at http://kf4ghc.org.  Send SASE with appropriate postage for mailed copy of results (1 stamp for results) and/or return of log if desired.  Please indicate your intent on the back of the SASE.  Mail log and completed score sheet by Oct 18, 2008 to: scqp@kf4ghc.org

SCORING:

QSO Points (per contact):

Phone - 1 point,  CW - 2 points,   Digital - 3 points

Power Multipliers:

Up to 5 watts X5,  up to 150 watts X2,  over 150 watts X1

SC County Multipliers:

Number of different SC Counties contacted - 46 maximum.

Contact with SM N2ZZ:

300 bonus points   Note: only 1 – 300 bonus point contact may be claimed, not both

 or Contact with KF4GHC:

300 bonus points   Note: only 1 – 300 bonus point contact may be claimed, not both

 

Score Calculation:

Raw QSO Score:

Total the number of "UNIQUE" Phone, CW, & Digital contacts multiplied by their respective points per contact.

SC Fixed:

(Raw QSO Score) x (# of SC Counties Worked) x (Power Multiplier) + any bonus points.

SC Mobile:

(Raw QSO Score) x (# of SC Counties Worked) x (# of SC Counties Activated) x (Power Multiplier) + any bonus points.

Outside SC:

(Raw QSO Score) x (# of SC Counties Worked) x (Power Multiplier) + any bonus points.
